Clifford Norton, the dynamic managing director of Frontier Voice & Data was a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the prestigious Comms Business magazine 2008 awards, held recently in London. Since establishing the company in 2005 Norton and his team have powered Frontier to the front rank of network distributors, offering the dealer and reseller community a new take on network services with service level agreements, competitive rates and no long-term contracts.
Frontier partners with several major telecom carrier and data network providers to offer the channel flexible choice in the carrier pre-selection (CPS) and wholesale line rental (WLR) markets. Above all channel partners can be assured that Frontier is a channel only provider and will not compete directly in the end-user market with its own resellers, unlike many competitors.
Frontier’s innovative ‘Reseller in a Box’ service provides resellers with access to lines and call billing for their customers with the minimum of input required from the reseller. ‘Reseller in a Box’ is fronted by the reseller, but all back-office service provision and technical expertise will be managed by Frontier.
Established by Norton in 2005, Frontier has projected sales revenues of £5 million for 2008. In a highly competitive market much of the company’s success is based on Norton’s policy of nurturing, incentivising and providing profit for its channel partners.
Commenting on the finalist status Norton said, “It’s very gratifying that my and Frontier’s efforts in the comms market have been recognised in this high-profile way. It’s a honour not just for me but for the whole Frontier team because it proves that the industry believes we’re taking the right approach to distributed network services”.
