Combined technologies automate infrastructure troubleshooting...
MARLBOROUGH, MA and LONDON, UK – September 19, 2007 – Entuity™, a leading provider of solutions for network service management and the global developer of the Eye of the Storm® (EYE) software suite, and Augur Systems, Inc., a leading developer of modern cross-platform event correlation, analysis, and management software, today announced a partnership that will provide customers with a cost-effective solution to improve reliability and efficiency in delivering mission-critical business services.
By combining Augur Systems’ Augur® 4 and Entuity’s EYE, enterprises and service providers can intelligently consolidate data from a wide range of event sources to improve problem resolution processes and maximise IT performance while reducing cost and mitigating risk.
“Companies are looking for proven solutions to reduce the burden and complexity of managing the range of new technologies they use to address their critical business initiatives,” said Michael Jannery, president and CEO of Entuity. “Our partnership with Augur directly addresses this need by combining our best-in-breed solutions to proactively identify and consolidate events from various devices, applications, and management tools, improving the productivity of IT operations staff and reducing the time it takes to resolve problems.”
Together, Augur 4 and EYE deliver a powerful set of network service management and event correlation capabilities for customers who want to improve their mean time to isolate, diagnose, and resolve problems, and to programmatically prioritise IT support tasks according to business impact. EYE automatically discovers a broad range of heterogeneous devices, application servers, and applications, continuously collecting key fault and performance data and comparing it against user-configurable thresholds. When these levels are exceeded, EYE passes a real-time event stream to Augur for correlation against multiple other system events, or simply for a consolidated view.
Augur links to EYE’s depth of network information, data, and forensics, giving operations personnel greater insight, control, and predictability of IT services. The end result is a cost-effective and streamlined way to drive IT infrastructure and business service reliability. General availability of the integration is scheduled for the first quarter of 2008.
“The ROI that network operations centres receive from modern network management solutions like EYE is time-tested and proven,” said Chris Janicki, founder and CEO of Augur Systems. “With the integrated solution available through this partnership with Entuity, enterprises will be able to further optimise that investment with a secondary layer of business rules and automations that address the currently neglected areas of efficiency and accountability.”
